The Callaway X Tour wedges feature carbon steel heads for the ultimate in feel and control. They also feature enhanced shaping that is confidence inspiring on both full shots and delicate shots around the green. The Vintage finish reduces glare and frames the ball nicely at address. These wedges were inspired by Phil Mickelson, and designed by renowned clubmaker Roger Cleveland.
This wedge has been played in an appropriate fashion. The wear is typical for a used golf club of it/s model age that has been well taken care of. Ball wear is visible with the only signs of cosmetic wear being limited to minor scratches to the finish and typical groove wear.
Golfers’ review:
Awesome wedge. This has the signature forged feel and the spin is unreal! I can get chips and pitches to spin backwards effortlessly. My complaints though are that they chew up my Pro V1s like there is no tomorrow, and they have a feel that I find to firm. Firm wedges aren’t exactly my forte.
A damn good wedge. A very soft feel, yet firm. I find it to be very versatile around the greens for 70 yards and in. Good out of the sand and it compliments a 52 or 54 degree wedge well. Great on bomb and runs.
The X-tours are the previous model in Callaway’s lineup, and I found it to be a solid wedge. I have the Vintage 58/9 (non MD) and I love my new club. The feel is amazing. I also have the new Vokeys and for my level of play, the X-tours are better suited. The length from head to toe is longer than a Vokey, and I find the X-tour easier to hit.
The Callaway X-Tour Vintage wedges are the greatest wedges I’ve ever played with. Very easy to hit, regardless if it is an approach or chip shot. The clubs have a very clean look and give confidence when addressing the ball. Both wedges produce a great amount of spin and control.
Picked up this Wedge on Saturday after another day hitting good looking chips and pitches followed by the familiar cry of ” Check, Sit Down” only to see the ball roll on 10 feet past. Hit some practice shots on the chipping green and was amazed, this baby just allows you to spin the ball like a Pro, even 15 yard chips just sit down quickly and spin back a few inches, on longer shots it just rips back, out of the rough I was amazed.
